A Little About Me

Kathryn Renton is a historian (B.A., Harvard; M.A., Ph.D., UCLA) and communications specialist at the Getty Research Institute. In her research, she explores the “more than human” early modern world, interested in the ways animals and environments have contributed to historical change. Her work has been published in English and Spanish in the Sixteenth Century Journal, The Court Historian, Bulletin Hispanique, and in several edited volumes. She has taught numerous history, writing, and research courses at UCLA and Occidental College, and she is the cofounder and past president of the Equine History Collective.
